Cut It Out!

I really love negative space manicures, they're different and interesting. I decided to try it out myself after seeing a post on Tumblr from Get Nailed.

I used tape to get the cut-out look. I think my favorite ones are my pointer and ring fingers, they seem to have turned out the best. I also really like the idea of closing off the negative space, it just adds a little bit more design to the whole look.

I used:
Midgi Light Blue nail art pen
Sally Hansen Lacey Lilac

What do you guys think? Will you be trying out the negative space trend?

Serendipity

Hello lovlies! Today I'm going to a friend's birthday party, which is being held at Serendipity 3. To my understanding its like a fancy ice cream parlor.

I do know for a fact though that we are getting this:

It's called the treasure chest, and it's every single ice cream/ dessert packed into an edible chocolate chest. I think I will have a sugar high for the rest of my life.

I decided to frostify my nails for the occasion. Starting from my thumb are the flavors; strawberry, chocolate with raspberry syrup and whip cream, vanilla with sprinkles, mint chocolate chip (my favorite!), and vanilla with chocolate syrup and a cherry on top.

I used:
Maybelline Green With Envy
Revlon Red
Revlon Posh
Clair's White, Pink, Blue, Black, and Green Nail Art Pens
NYC French Tip White
Petite's French Pink
Sally Hansen Stony Creme
Sally Hansen Lacy Lilac
Stripe Rite Yellow
Midgi Yellow and Blue Nail Art Pens

 Anybody else hungry now?

All Hail McQueen

I've been so excited for this challenge, because I love fashion so much ^-^. I decided to do a mani based on Alexander McQueen's spring/summer 2008 collection.

(the dress on the left)

I thought this dress was really fun and enjoyed re-creating it. I hope I served McQueen's dress well.

I used:
Midgi Pink Nail Art Pen
NYC Plaza Plumberry
Sally Hansen Blackout

Let's Take a Polaroid Picture

Hey chickas! Let's bring some song-inspired nail art to your frostbitten fingertips shall we?

Today's mani was inspired by Skyler Stonestreet's song Polaroid Picture. Its a fun bubbly song that makes me smile, it actually is one of Polaroids official songs I believe. I painted a camera on my accent nail, and little Polaroid frames on the rest. My dad used to have a Polaroid, he would take pictures of me doing ballet with it. I wish it hadn't gotten stolen :\.

I used:
NYC French Tip White
Clair's Blue and Black Nail Art Pens
Revlon Red
Midgi Hot Pink Pen
Stripe Rite Yellow
Revlon POSH

Omnomnomagon

Today's post is just a bit random, it's not a swatch, not a 31 Day Challenge post, just some random nail art I did for funzies :). A ffamily member suggested I do Pacman nails, and I know ts not a new idea, but I was excited all the same because when I first started nail art that never even crossed my mind as being possible. It just seemed too advanced and way out of reach.

NOMNOMNOMNOM :)
I used:
Sally Hansen Black Out
Clair's White and Blue Nail Art Pens
Revlon Red
NYC Spring Street
NYC Lexington Yellow
Midgi Light Pink and Blue Nail Art Pens

“Erre es korakas, Blinky!" Dionysus cursed. "I will have your soul!”
Does anybody else think of Percy Jackson and Dionysus's obsession with PacMan? No? Just me?

I like how this manicure turned out overall, but I think in the future I will give it another go and make it better. For gosh sakes the dots are bigger than the ghosts xD. It is nice to see that my skills are progressing though, and something I thought was impossible is now achievable :)

Galaxy Loophole

Today's challenge theme in galaxies, but nobody necessarily said I HAD to do the stuff up in the sky. So I found a loophole, the Samsung Galaxy phone. You can call me a cheater, but I prefer to think of it as strategic planning.

I copied all of the widgets at the bottom of the phone, the telephone, contacts, messaging, and internet. I like how this turned out, I think i'm getting better at free-handing stuff.

I used:
NYC French Tip White
Stripe Rite Green
NYC Spring Street
Clair's Black Nail Art Pen
Stripe Rite Yellow
Sally Hansen Brisk Blue
Midgi Blue Pen

Flutterby Butterfly

So I"m actually going to check the day numbers for this one and it turns out we're on day... *runs to room*... 15! Delicate print day. I went through loads of my plates trying to find the perfect "delicate" print and I finally settled on this one because what could be more delicate than butterfly wings?

I loooove this! I was hoping that the purple would be more opaque but I like it more this way, kinda gives it the translucence of actual butterfly wings! Sure I had to mega adjust whatever in the photos so it could actually be SEEN and look like what they actually look like on my hand. My camera does not like to pick up on light things. Totally worth it though so I could share these with you ^-^

I used:
Essie We're In It Together
Midgi Silvery Purple Pen

Notice how I knock these posts out of the park so quickly? I don't paint my nails in like five seconds, throughout the day I get bored and paint them, them edit and bomb you with the posts all in one sitting. Just in case you were wondering ^-^.

Roomies

I finished cleaning my room earlier than expected, so I figured I would do another challenged day just cause :P Whatever number this one is, its animal print. So I used my five roomies as a reference.

So I'll start off with the nail art, then explain each nail in order.

My thumbnail is inspired by my five-year-old German Shepard Max. Very creative name. At around age two his nose started turning pink, and progressed more and more as he ages, I think he licks his nose so much he rubs off the black.

Max is unimpressed with my attempts to photograph him.

Next is my fish Barbie who hid at the back of the tank the entire time. You'll just have to take my word that she's pink with gold stripes

This is Zack, he's about a year old I believe. I found him as a baby in my garage curled up under the recycling bins. He used to scare the crap out of mom, but now she's gotten used to him. He spends his days sleeping, digging, and eating crickets. Which is really fun to watch because he does little pushups and wriggles his tail before striking.

This is Oedipus Rex and he is a camera hog, I think he was fascinated by the camera's flash. Whenever I would try and get a picture of the other fish he would swim in front and block them out. I won him at a carnival, and I learned later that all of the other fish they had there died because they had used the school's water, whereas when I got him I switched out the water he was in for bottled water cause I thought it would be better. Apparently it was cause here he is three months later.

Showing off.
Lastly was Elvis, my blue fish with gold stripes. He was camera shy too, and you can see Barbie to the side a bit too. And Oedipus camera hogging again.

I used:
Sally Hansen Black Out
Midgi Hot Pink Pen
Venique Hot Date
Maybelline Bold Gold
Sally Hansen Bold Buff
Clair's Black Nail Art Pen
NYC Spring Street
Venique Rolling Tides

(EDIT: I forgot to mention I have a cat named Angel, but she lives with my Uncle since we found out my younger brother is allergic :'(. I get to see her often though and she always come running up to me mewing ^-^. Hopefully when I'm older I can have her live with me.)

I know I know I have been gone FOREVER. I've had a lot of crap just come up this week, and I even had a manicure all done and pretty for you but I didn't get around to photographing it so then it chipped and blah... So to make up for it I'm back with some awesome nail art for you!

Christmas tree ornaments! This design has been floating around in my mind for awhile now and today I fineally sat down and brought it to life. Its so fun and festive, I'm going to have to keep this one on for a while. Don't worry, that doesn't mean its going to be an eternity till my next post again!

So as you might've guessed like a zillion polishes were used here, no acrylic this time, I'm so proud of myself! Here goes:

Green Eyed Monster

Hello there people! Today is day four of the 31DC, and green nails are up!

I started out with a different idea in my head, each nail was going to be a different pattern. But after I doodled out the first one on my index finger I liked it so much I decided to repeat it. The lime green ended up not standing out as much as I thought it would have, but I like it more this way I think.

I used:
Revlon POSH
Lime Green Midgi Nail Art Pen

I need to figure out how I got the lighting that way in this photo, turned out great. See you guys in a bit, blue is next!

UPDATE: (after looking back on these they now remind me of data chips for a computer xD)

Polish Days- MANicure

I love the idea of polish days, and I'm excited to participate in my first post! So this months theme is MANicure, to go along with Movember. Movember is like October Pink for breast cancer awareness, except this is for men's health awareness. Guys participating don't shave for a month and call each other MoBros I believe. I some how convinced my boyfriend to participate, so heres my Movember participation.

Mini mustachios! And a teeny bowler hat :). I know not the most original idea, but it gave me an excuse to match my nails to this rad necklace:

Mustache and Bowler Hat necklace from ZAD, came in my Little Black Bag

I used Essie We're In It Together, Sally Hansen Xtream Wear Black Out, and a silvery purple nail art pen from Midgi

I can't wait to see other Polish Days Participants' MANicures, in the mean time I'm celebrating my Dad's birthday, happy 46th!

Pink Out!

Hello everybody! I know its been a while since my last post, so lets just get right into the nail art shall we?

We had a pink out day at my school today for Breast Cancer Awareness, so I painted my nails for the occasion :). I used three pink shades of Midgi Nail Art Pens polish as basecoats  (sorry I don't have names for them ):), a pink sparkly Bon Bon polish for the middle finger, and Sally Hansen Xtream Wear Rockstar pink for the pointer and pinky fingers.

BM-321

I LOVE Rockstar, definitely better than a lot of pink glitters I've seen, the extra colors make it.

Bottle pic
Well thats all I have for right now, have a great halloween!

Pajammers

My school is doing a spirit week for Nevada Day on Friday, so of course I have to have my nails match anything I wear. Today was Pajama Day, and I wore my black-pink-polkadot Betsy Johnson pjs my grandma gave me.

Polkadots for the pattern and a bow on my accent nail for the tie on the bottoms.

I used Sally Hansen Xtream Wear Black out and a pink Midgi Nail Art Pen.

Comparison to my pjs.

I really love how this look turned out, kinda sad that I have to take it off. Oh well, I know the next design will be awesome too, you'll see tomorrow! :)

Enter, if You Dare...

The Redrum mani was starting to freak me out, especially after my boyfriend told me stories about people getting murdered. Lovely. So I decided to create a not-mark-myself-for-death mani.

Just a pretty blue with a haunted house. I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Co-Bolt Blue and Brisk Blue, Pale Yellow Midgi Nail Art Pen, and Sally Hansen Xtream Wer Blackout.

I used BM-305 and penned in yellow windows,

So there you have it, three posts in one day, not to bad huh?

So Begins the Haunting...

Since its October of COURSE I have to start of this blog with an appropriately themed mani. With it being my first attempt at a gradient, I think it turned out quite well. Lets get right to the photos shall we?
Background colors: Revlon Top Speed Infamous, Midgi Nail Art Pale Yellow, Sally Hansen Insta-Dry White Out, and  Sally Hansen Xtream Wear Black Out.
I realized I should probably stamp the other way around... Oopsie.
I used Black Our for stamping colors.
Plates (in nail order): BM-301
BM-325
BM-305
